Technician in Sheet Metal Processing for Test and Evaluation Air

Are you a technician with experience in processing, construction, and sheet metal articles? We are now looking for a new employee for Test and Evaluation Air. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both detail and overall project aspects that strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces and Sweden. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.

About the Position

As a technician in sheet metal, you will operate in the area of sheet metal processing, which means you will work with sheet metal work, repair of sheet metal damage, manufacturing of sheet metal parts, and prototype manufacturing. You will be involved in the production of installations and assemblies for flying equipment, primarily Gripen, transport aircraft, or helicopters. As a technician, you will work closely with designers and test leaders in the development of installations. You will also work on developing manufacturing methods and support other production activities.

About You

We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education focused on workshop technology, sheet metal processing, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of experience in sheet metal work, repair of sheet metal damage, and manufacturing of sheet metal parts according to drawings, bending, drilling, and riveting. To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have documented knowledge in technical drawing and can easily understand technical publications in Swedish and English. A basic requirement is that you hold a B driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have worked in prototype manufacturing and in the early development of details in projects. Experience in sheet metal work/installation/manufacturing within the aviation sector or another equivalent quality level of manufacturing is also meritorious. Previous experience in a mechanical workshop and knowledge of measurement technology is considered a plus. If you also have training and/or practical experience in welding or have training as an aircraft technician or aircraft mechanic, we view that positively.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and seek someone who enjoys collaborating with others, is meticulous, and well aware of goals and quality standards. We also see that you are accommodating in your interactions and have an interest and ability to support and help others.
